Hypertext Transfer Protocol - HTTP/1.1
نویسندگان
چکیده
The Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) is an application-level protocol for distributed, collaborative, hypermedia information systems. It is a generic, stateless, object-oriented protocol which can be used for many tasks, such as name servers and distributed object management systems, through extension of its request methods. A feature of HTTP is the typing and negotiation of data representation, allowing systems to be built independently of the data being transferred.

Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP/1.1): Conditional Requests
The Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) is a stateless application-level protocol for distributed, collaborative, hypertext information systems. This document defines HTTP/1.1 conditional requests, including metadata header fields for indicating state changes, request header fields for making preconditions on such state, and rules for constructing the responses to a conditional request when one ...
متن کاملPRO-COW: Protocol Compliance on the Web - A Longitudinal Study
With the recent (draft) standardization of the Hypertext Transfer Protocol { HTTP/1.1 protocol on the Web, it is natural to ask what percentage of popular Web sites speak HTTP/1.1 and how compliant are these so-called HTTP/1.1 servers. We attempt to answer these questions through a series of experiments based on the protocol standard. The tests were run on a comprehensive list of popular Web si...
متن کاملKey Differences between HTTP/1.0 and HTTP/1.1 - Work Project No. 3116-17-1001
The HTTP/1.1 protocol is the result of four years of discussion and debate among a broad group of Web researchers and developers. It improves upon its phenomenally successful predecessor, HTTP/1.0, in numerous ways. We discuss the diierences between HTTP/1.0 and HTTP/1.1, as well as some of the rationale behind these changes.
متن کاملExperimentation and Modeling of HTTP Over Satellite Channels
This paper investigates the performance of various versions of the HyperText Transfer Protocol (HTTP) over a geosynchronous satellite link. Both HTTP/1.0, the currently popular form of the protocol, and HTTP/1.1, the recently standardized form of HTTP, are studied. Next, we quantify the impact of a moderate bit-error rate on the performance of HTTP. Finally, we expand the mathematical model of ...
